Maya by George Douros is a free geometric sans serif with slim, mostly even strokes and the poised proportions of Art Deco lettering. Broad circular forms meet pointed diagonals and neatly clipped joins, giving the capitals an airy but deliberate silhouette.
It is especially convincing for fashion branding, gallery posters, and upscale hospitality signage, where its refined geometry can set a cultured, period-aware direction. Magazine covers and event invitations can also draw on its 1920s flavor, particularly when the design calls for elegance with a slightly theatrical edge.
Maya covers the glyphs in J. Eric S. Thompsons A Catalog of Maya Hieroglyphs, as well as some extra glyphs for days, months and numbers. This is a work-font that may be of some scholarly use; it is not a proposal of any kind. There are no plans to improve or expand it. Maya.pdf provides further information.
