Fontana Italic by Neale Davidson is a free modern display font with a forceful, tightly packed silhouette. Its steep slant and compressed proportions create forward motion, while broad strokes meet sharply clipped ends and compact inner spaces. The lettering feels fast and emphatic.

Fontana is based on the titling used by Pocket Books for its Star Trek novels during the 1970s and most of the 1980s. It includes accented characters, extended punctuation, the euro sign, and bold and italic versions. The font is named after DC Fontana, a Star Trek author.
